Each day there are opportunities for creativity in a completely unstructured area where children can enjoy a variety of materials according to their own imagination.
We also have opportunities to create in a more structured area where we supply materials and ideas according to the themes we are working on.

Throughout the year we work on themes such as: The Five Senses, Transportation, Occupations, Musical Instruments, Reptiles, Insects, Nutrition, Oceans, Farms, Safety, Seasons & Holidays.

Science is another important part of our program here at Sonshine Street Preschool and we regularly enjoy "Science Weeks" when we experiment with messy, bubbly and sometimes loud ingredients!! We learn about insects and reptiles and try to have "hands-on" experiences. We also have included the popular "Fun Family Phonics" program in our 4-year-old classes in order to help the children learn the basics essential for successful reading and to prepare for Kindergarten.
